Redzuawan bin Ismail (also known as Chef Wan) is a famous chef, television host, actor, businessman, and restaurateur from Malaysia. In his early years, Chef Wan worked as an accountant. He claims that after observing the success of numerous types of Asian cuisine in Western nations, he made the decision to use food to promote Malaysia and other South East Asian nations. Chef Wan holds a Ritz Escoffier Diploma from the Hôtel Ritz Paris and an associate's degree in Professional Chef Training and Hotel Management from the California Culinary Academy. He received the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards' Best Celebrity Television Chef honor in 2009. Chef Wan is the culinary representative for Tourism Malaysia. He presently represents AirAsia as a brand ambassador. In season one, episode five of No Reservations, Anthony Bourdain introduced Chef Wan to American viewers while on his journey to Malaysia in 2005. Chef Wan made an appearance in episode 3 of Rick Stein's Far Eastern Odyssey in 2009. (BBC).
